Job Description


Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the site subject matter expert (SME) for metrology, dimensional inspection, and measurement systems.
  • Develop, validate, qualify, and maintain measurement systems utilizing precision hand tools, bench instruments, vision systems, and touch-probe equipment.
  • Program, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain MicroVu measurement systems and associated software.
  • Design, develop, and support fabrication of measurement fixtures to improve inspection accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
  • Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities, including protocol development, work instruction creation, Gage R&R studies, statistical analysis, and final reporting.
  • Evaluate measurement system capability using statistical tools and software and implement improvements as needed.
  • Support equipment qualification, process validation, and validation maintenance activities related to inspection and measurement systems.
  • Perform dimensional inspections and testing in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, sampling plans, and quality requirements.
  • Support incoming inspection, manufacturing inspection, nonconformance investigations, customer complaints, and change control activities.
  • Analyze inspection and measurement data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential quality risks.
  • Maintain inspection programs, quality records, calibration requirements, protocols, reports, and associated quality documentation.
  • Provide training, coaching, and technical support to manufacturing, quality, and engineering personnel on measurement techniques, inspection processes, and metrology best practices.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation, and Quality teams to implement process improvements and support new product or process introductions.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality System Regulations, ISO requirements, internal procedures, safety policies, and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate accountability for all safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by Quality Management.

Education and Experience:

Education:

  • Required / Minimum: High School Diploma/GED
  • Preferred: Associates Degree in Programming, Engineering, Math or similar field

Experience:

  • Preferred: Six (6) months of experience in manufacturing, metrology, dimensional inspection, precision measurement systems, vision systems, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with MicroVu equipment, MSA, Gage R&R studies, and interpreting engineering drawings is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in english.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with associates, management, customers, and auditors.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing processes, and product component requirements.
  • General knowledge of key regulations such as FDA, GMP, ISO, and OSHA preferred. Willingness to learn and apply these standards in daily work.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience with molding processes and dimensional and visual inspection techniques using precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, comparators, MicroVu).
  • Knowledge of process validation activities, including inspection and testing support.
  • Experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gage R&R studies and statistical evaluation of measurement systems.
  • Demonstrated adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary


Computer Skills:

  • Required: Microsoft Office Suite & Minitab
  • Preferred: SAP & Apriso

Physical Demands:

  • Physical demands include activities associated with working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is fast-paced and primarily centered in busy manufacturing areas, with minimal time spent in an office setting. This position is an on-site position (not remote).

Our salary or hourly rate ranges reward associates fairly and competitively. We regularly review these ranges and factors, such as location, contribute to the range displayed. Our pay is based on the role and the necessary skills and education to perform it successfully. The salary or hourly rate offered is determined by the role's specific requirements, including any applicable step rate pay system at the work location. Salary or hourly pay ranges are influenced by labor laws and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements applicable to the work location, which may also affect the workplace arrangement of the role.


Salary Range: $30.60 - $49.00 USD Hourly
