Senior Cybersecurity Data Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Data Engineer to join our Cyber and Digital Risk Management (C&DR) team at BD. This role is critical in designing and building a modern, well governed, secure and scalable analytics platform that enables trusted, consistent cybersecurity reporting and insights.

The ideal candidate will help establish a single source of truth by consolidating fragmented data from multiple cybersecurity sources, replacing siloed reporting with actionable, data-driven insights for the executive, management and operational levels. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset, experience in data engineering and visualization, and with a curiosity about cybersecurity and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Architecture

· Own the identification, documentation, collection, analyzing, transformation, and interpretation of data to deliver actionable insights for the cybersecurity organization

· Partner with cybersecurity and other technology stakeholders to design, build and optimize automated data pipelines to extract, ingest, transform and curate data across Fabric workspaces and domains according to governance and access standards

· Implement and maintain a lakehouse and medallion architecture to support scalable analytics and reporting

· Integrate, transform and govern data efficiently, from multiple data sources, using capabilities such as T-SQL, Python, PySpark, Notebooks, Power Query, JSON, Parquet files

Analytics & Visualizations

· Collaborate with cybersecurity stakeholders to design and deliver Power BI dashboards for executive, management and operational level audiences

· Build and maintain a governed cybersecurity metrics catalog consisting of KPIs and KRIs to measure cybersecurity posture and maturity

· Analyze existing data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and potential risks

· Support the development of cybersecurity maturity models, performance scorecards, ad-hoc analyses, and reporting as needed

· Design and maintain portfolio metrics dashboards to track the performance and impact of cybersecurity initiatives

Data Quality, Governance & Strategy

· Implement and maintain data governance frameworks aligned to Microsoft Fabric capabilities, including data security, sensitivity labeling, role-based access control (RBAC), data lineage, and cataloging

· Perform data quality assessments in partnership with data product owners to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple data sources and platforms

· Contribute to the C&DR data management strategy including tools, standards and best practices

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

· 7-10+ years of experience in data engineering with experience in delivering analytics, and data visualization roles

· Experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Notebooks), Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure DevOps and implementing a medallion architecture and Delta tables

· Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a strong plus

· Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, programming languages, and analytical methodologies

· Ability to clearly communicate complex technical insights to non-technical stakeholders

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills

· Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

· Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
