Job Description

The Territory Manager, Non-Acute remote Canada base role, is responsible for growing revenue and managing the existing business within the assigned territories of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The role develops opportunities with customers, distributors and other channel partners, builds strong stakeholder relationships, and delivers solutions aligned with customer needs and BD’s commercial objectives.


Working collaboratively with the Non-Acute team and relevant Business Units, the Territory Manager, Non-Acute translates strategic priorities into actionable territory plans, maintains a strong pipeline and supports channel partners with the knowledge and resources required to succeed. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial capabilities while consistently applying BD’s sales processes, tools, and ethical standards.


This remote-based role requires the successful candidate to reside near a major airport to facilitate travel across Canada, with travel up to 20%.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The role manages business through a combination of direct customer engagement and distributor-led sales execution, depending on the account, market segment, and product category.
  • Achieve assigned revenue and growth targets by managing the existing business and developing new sales opportunities.
    Develop and execute against territory plan aligned with BD’s commercial and marketing strategies.
  • Build productive, long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and other channel partners.
  • Identify customer needs and develop mutually beneficial solutions aligned with customer and BD objectives.
  • Build, maintain, and advance a qualified pipeline of opportunities aligned with territory priorities, ensuring clear next steps, timelines, and revenue potential.
  • Protect existing business by maintaining strong customer relationships, monitoring competitive activity, and identifying risks to customer retention within the assigned territory.
  • Apply Strategic Account Planning principles to prioritize customers, identify growth opportunities, and support the execution of territory objectives.
  • Provide accurate territory forecasts and maintain current opportunity, customer, and activity information to support business planning and forecasting accuracy.
  • Support customer quotation, proposal, tender, and contract activities, as applicable, by coordinating required information and collaborating with internal stakeholders in accordance with company processes. Work with channel partners to strengthen product knowledge, sales capabilities, and market execution.
  • Identify and assess new channels, customer and partnership opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong clinical, technical, and competitive knowledge across the assigned portfolio.
    Monitor customer needs, market trends, and competitive activity, and share actionable insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Non-Acute team, Business Units, Marketing and other internal partners to advance priority opportunities.
  • Apply the BD Way of Selling and use approved commercial tools and resources consistently.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with BD’s Code of Conduct, policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience required:

  • College or University degree required. Business or medical-based studies would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in the MedTech and/or medical device industry in sales or related roles required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Fluency in English (read write speak) is required.
  • Customer-focused sales professional with a demonstrated ability to achieve results.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain clinical and commercial information to varied audiences.
  • Strong territory, pipeline, and priority management capabilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate market insights into action.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated and accountable, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and opportunities within a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including occasional overnight travel, if applicable.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience in selling to Non-Acute environments (e.g. clinics, home care, retail pharmacy, biotech/pharma) and through distribution partners preferred.
  • Previous experience selling remotely considered an asset.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com will be considered a strong asset.

Salary ranges have been implemented to reward associates fairly and competitively, as well as to support recognition of associates’ progress, ranging from entry level to experts in their field, and talent mobility. There are many factors that contribute to the range displayed. The range displayed is comprised of wages, which includes base salary and commission, as well as certain components of our bonus programs. The salary offered to a successful candidate may vary based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, education, skills, qualifications, and work location. 

Salary Range Information: $69000-$119000
