Job Description

The Senior Supplier Excellence Manager (JG-5) is responsible for driving measurable operational excellence and performance improvement across BD’s strategic and preferred supplier base. This role partners closely with Category Management, Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations to improve supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, capacity, resiliency, and innovation.

Supplier Performance Management

• Monitor and improve supplier performance across key metrics including quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.

• Support development and execution of supplier performance improvement plans.

• Track supplier performance through defined governance and reporting mechanisms.

Supplier Development

• Partner with suppliers to improve operational capability, manufacturing efficiency, and quality performance.

• Conduct supplier capability and maturity assessments.

• Develop supplier improvement roadmaps aligned with BD operational excellence objectives.

Continuous Improvement & Supplier Kaizen

• Lead or support supplier Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve supplier productivity, cost, and quality performance.

• Support implementation of BD Excellence tools and best practices across the supply base.

Design-to-Value (DTV) & Cost Optimization

• Lead Design-to-Value (DTV) initiatives in partnership with category management and engineering teams.

• Conduct cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and cost breakdown analysis to identify savings opportunities.

• Lead VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) initiatives with strategic suppliers.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Support

• Support early supplier engagement in new product development programs.

• Ensure supplier readiness for new product launches including process capability and capacity readiness.

• Partner with engineering and supplier quality teams to mitigate supply risk during product launches.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Supplier Risk Management

Education and Experience

• Bachellor´s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management (or related technical field)

• 8-10 years of experience in: supplier development, supplier quality, supply chain.

• Working with global manufacturing suppliers, driving operational improvements within supplier organizations.

• Region-Bilingual proficiency English and Spanish.

• Travel requirements up to 50% to supplier locations globally.
