About us
Across Africa, we work in a cross-functional fashion, collaborating to meet each individual country’s needs and those of the patients, too. Our South Africa offices are located in Johannesburg where our Africa HQ is situated. In addition, we have offices in Nairobi, Kenya; Accra, Ghana; and Lusaka, Zambia. We also have a presence in the other African countries where we have field-based associates making our presence across the continent strong. We provide life-changing products to customers and their patients across a number of segments and business units.

Our sites
South Africa
Established in 1995 with the office located in Johannesburg, our South African business is home to more than 190 associates. With a strong presence throughout the region, we have a big part to play within the healthcare industry. Offering sales support, technical service and application training for the entire BD product range, both directly and via a network of professional distributors, our South African office has been the center of expansion of operations on the continent. We also provide guidance on issues such as healthcare worker and patient safety, product optimization, and patient comfort.
Kenya
Our office in Nairobi, Kenya, was established in 2000. With a highly competent team offering sales, marketing, and technical support for BD products and equipment, we support Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Seychelles Eritrea. We provide training in good laboratory practices and safe injection practices to strengthen healthcare within the region.
Ghana
Our site located in Accra, Ghana, provides sales and technical support, including application specialists and service engineers strategically located throughout the region. The Ghana Health Service, acting through its National AIDS/STI Control Program, in collaboration with BD in West Africa, successfully inaugurated the Ghana National Center of Excellence for laboratory training in March 2008 which, to date, has successfully trained over 100 laboratorians from the region.
