Job Description
Make an Impact Through Engineering Excellence
Are you passionate about driving process improvements, leading engineering projects, and delivering meaningful business results? We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting manufacturing excellence through capital projects, packaging innovations, process optimization, and cost reduction initiatives.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to deliver projects that enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, project execution, and continuous improvement within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and Support Engineering Projects
Execute engineering projects focused on process improvements, packaging enhancements, material changes, and cost optimization initiatives.
Support capital equipment acquisition, installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
Drive project execution from planning through implementation while ensuring project objectives, timelines, and deliverables are achieved.
Packaging & Supplier Development
Lead packaging-related projects including:
Material qualifications
Supplier transfers
Supplier qualifications
Cost transformation and waste reduction (CTW) initiatives
Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify innovative solutions that improve packaging performance and reduce costs.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to streamline manufacturing and packaging processes using data-driven problem-solving approaches.
Provide engineering support for equipment modifications, troubleshooting, and maintenance improvement activities.
Validation & Compliance
Develop and maintain project documentation including:
Change controls
Risk assessments
Validation protocols and reports
Engineering studies
Support packaging validation, qualification, and testing activities to ensure product integrity throughout handling, storage, and distribution.
Ensure compliance with company quality systems and applicable regulatory requirements, including ISO and FDA standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, and external suppliers to successfully deliver project outcomes.
Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
Foster strong teamwork and alignment across functions to achieve operational goals.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience within the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or other regulated industries is preferred.
Exposure to packaging validation, material qualification, supplier qualification, or supplier transfer projects is advantageous.
Technical & Professional Skills
Strong project coordination and execution skills.
Effective problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
Good understanding of engineering documentation and change management processes.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies is a plus.
