Job Description

We're looking for a dynamic Planner-Buyer who thrives on keeping operations running smoothly! You'll be the critical connection between our suppliers and production teams, strategically managing procurement while optimizing costs and ensuring we never miss a beat in our delivery commitments.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape Procurement Strategy - Take ownership of your assigned categories by selecting top-tier suppliers, negotiating win-win contracts, and building lasting partnerships.
  • Master the Planning Game - Use production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory targets to anticipate material needs before they become urgent, keeping our operations ahead of the curve
  • Execute with Precision - Create and release purchase orders with meticulous accuracy, ensuring every detail aligns with company policies and operational requirements
  • Drive Supplier Excellence - Track and elevate supplier performance across on-time delivery, quality standards, and cost metrics—and take decisive action when improvements are needed
  • Optimize Inventory Intelligence - Strike the perfect balance between avoiding stockouts and eliminating excess inventory by leveraging MRP/ERP systems like a pro
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally - Partner closely with Production, Quality, and R&D teams to understand their material needs and solve supply chain challenges before they impact operations
  • Uncover Cost Savings - Be a detective for opportunities! Identify and implement strategic sourcing initiatives, process improvements, and negotiation tactics that deliver real bottom-line impact
  • Analyze and Report - Prepare insightful purchasing reports including spend analysis, supplier scorecards, and inventory turn metrics that inform strategic decisions
  • Ensure Compliance - Maintain rigorous adherence to all purchasing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements—keeping our operations audit-ready
  • Innovate and Improve - Join cross-functional teams working on exciting new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives that shape our company's future


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 5 years experience in a planning or buying role OR
  • Associates Degree in related field and 3 years of experience in a planning or buying role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of GxP regulations and quality systems is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience the life sciences or manufacturing industry.
