Job Description

The Global Business Services (GBS) team helps drive BD forward by seeking out and implementing innovative ways to operate effectively and efficiently.  We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Customer Master Data Steward for our Quote-to-Cash service line
The Master Data Steward for Quote to Cash (Q2C) Operations is responsible for managing and maintaining high-quality master data that supports the end-to-end Q2C process. This role ensures the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of customer related master data across BD infrastructure, enabling efficient sales, order management, billing, and revenue recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

Initial Data Cleansing & Setup

  • Collaborate with the QTC Data Owner to clean and validate the existing Customer Master Data (CMD) database.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
  • Establish and document data standards and validation rules aligned with QTC.

Regional Expertise Development

  • Develop a deep understanding of regional specifics and regulatory requirements related to customer master data in the medical field.
  • Maintain awareness of local QTC and business practices and data nuances to ensure accurate and compliant data handling.

End-to-End CMD Lifecycle Ownership

  • Take full responsibility for the QTC customer master data lifecycle after the initial cleansing phase.
  • Manage data creation, updates, and deactivation processes in alignment with governance policies.
  • Monitor ongoing data quality and ensure continuous improvement.

System Implementation & Upgrades Support

  • Support local and regional system implementations and upgrades by ensuring QTC CMD requirements are captured and met.
  • Participate in testing and validation activities related to CMD during system changes.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of automation solutions and workflow improvements.
  • Ensure that QTC automation initiatives are built on clean, structured, and reliable data foundations.

Cross-Functional Subject Matter Expertise

  • Act as a QTC CMD subject matter expert across Commercial, CMDO, Finance, Legal, and IT teams.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across functions is maintained.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align on data governance and business needs.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to define and apply data standards and business rules
  • Continuous improvement and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills to identify data trends and issues
  • Attention to detail and structured thinking
  • Proactive and self-driven with a continuous learning mindset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, cross-regional environment
  • Ability to adapt global data standards to local needs

Nice-to-have

  • Strong understanding of data governance and data lifecycle management within QTC
  • Expertise in data cleansing, validation, and enrichment techniques
  • Experience with master data systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Oracle)
  • Certifications in data management or relevant platforms (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, SAP Master Data)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and revenue recognition standards
