At BD, Manufacturing professionals produce the medical technologies patients and clinicians rely on every day. Whether you're an experienced operator or building your technical skillset, BD offers a supportive environment, clear expectations and opportunities to grow – all within a company committed to doing work that matters. And as one of the largest global medical technology companies, you'll contribute to manufacturing at a scale that strengthens healthcare systems worldwide, advancing care where it's needed most.
We are the people who give possibilities purpose
BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.
Job Description
1) Own and run the monthly S&OP cadence (governance + facilitation)
- Own S&OP calendar, inputs, meeting governance, and output quality across functions (Sales/Marketing/Finance/SCM/Customer Service).
- Ensure S&OP pack is decision-oriented: highlights gaps, trade-offs, and actions required. Run “post S&OP” follow-through: confirm decisions, assign owners/deadlines, monitor progress, and escalate.
- Track key issues, risks, opportunities, and resource needs required for execution.
2) Demand alignment and consensus forecast (country level)
- Consolidate demand signals (forecast, pipeline, tenders/institution business, promotions, NPI) into a consensus demand plan.
- Validate bookings/shipments/backlog inputs and ensure demand/supply data is aligned by product family.
- Run forecast performance reviews and variance diagnosis (forecast vs actual), driving corrective actions.
3) Supply assurance + constraint/risk management
- Convert demand into supply requirements and surface constraints early (allocation limits, lead-time shifts, MOQ, regulatory/QA release timing, logistics bottlenecks).
- Maintain a country supply view that bridges supply plan details with commercial expectations, documents key assumptions, and flags risks.
- Drive mitigation plans for risks impacting supply and demand; maintain assumptions behind forecasts and capacity/logistics plans.
4) Inventory & distribution planning (multi-DC / multi-channel)
- Own country inventory strategy (target cover, safety stock logic, deployment priorities) aligned to service and working capital outcomes.
- Lead DRP/deployment planning to position inventory at the right nodes and reduce firefighting; work with deployment/DRP tools.
- Drive Excess & Obsolesce management routines and SKU transitions with clear disposition plans.
5) Allocation and backorder governance (critical in import-constrained MedTech)
- Run structured decision forums for constrained SKUs: allocation rules, customer prioritization, and recovery plans.
- Ensure backorder exposure is visible and tracked with owners and timelines.
6) Metrics, dashboards, and continuous improvement
- Govern S&OP metrics and performance management (forecast quality, backlog, inventory health, OTIF).
- Improve planning processes and drive automation
